Ifeoluwa Popoola, Local Director, is an Assistant County Attorney at the Erie County Department of Law in thelitigation unit, where she focuses on defending the county both in federal and state court in personal injury cases and civil rights cases. Ifeoluwa also spearheads and handles all Erie County Red Flag law cases and all Erie County Department of Health Commissioner’s hearings for violation of the Erie County Sanitary Code.

Before joining the County, Ifeoluwa was a Public defender at The Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo defending indigent members of the Buffalo community in misdemeanor and felony cases.

Ifeoluwa is an internationally trained attorney licensed to practice both in her home country Nigeria and in New York State Appellate Division 4 th Department and the United States Federal Court for the Western District of New York.

Before relocating to the United States, Ifeoluwa had a general practice in Nigeria where she practiced both criminal and civil law for about 3 years. After relocating to the United States, Ifeoluwa attended the University of Buffalo where the bagged her second law degree (JD).

Ifeoluwa is also the Vice -president of the Minority Bar Association of Western New York and a member of the Erie County Bar Association.

She has always been passionate about public service and pro-bono work which has influenced her career path as an attorney. Ifeoluwa was recently featured as a pro-bono spotlight attorney by the ECBA Volunteer Lawyers Project Inc. for her pro-bono representation of some of their clients.

Ifeoluwa enjoys spending time with her husband and their two sons and is also an active member of her local church where she also enjoys spending time with her church family.
